Position Overview

The IT Business Quality Analyst supports the project management process in an effort to drive operational effectiveness. Identify business needs, elicit and document customer requirements utilizing various elicitation techniques, project methodologies and approaches. Conduct systems testing to assure compliance with the functional requirements acceptance criteria, design of programs and database changes. Demonstrate enhancements to end user testers and assist with user acceptance testing. This position serves as a point of contact between the business and IT development resources and reports to the Senior Director, IT Strategy & Development.

Key Job Responsibilities

Business Requirements Analysis

• Serve as knowledgeable resource to stakeholders and IT regarding software capabilities, business processes, change impacts and integration with key systems.

• Liaise with cross-functional teams to identify and maximize opportunities to improve products, services and business processes.

• Use varied techniques to conduct and facilitate meetings and workshops to identify, analyze, synthesize and communicate customer requirements ensuring end products will solve the business problems at hand.

• Prepare detailed project artifacts, tailored to the specific project approach and size which may include business case and scope, business/stakeholder solution and transition requirements, user stories/journey/scenarios, process maps, screen flow diagrams, business rules, business data models, user security needs, UI/UX/screen designs, wireframes and use cases, acceptance criteria and test plans.

Testing/Quality Assurance

• Document and execute test scenarios and test cases and conduct free testing based on specific project approach and size.

• Participate in cross-functional groups to test, evaluate and validate new functions and applications, and identify issues in software or services.

Job Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in computer science, engineering, business administration or a related field

• 5+ years experience as an IT Business Analyst with strong understating of Software Development Life Cycle, versed in multiple elicitation techniques and project approaches

• 5+ years experience with IT Quality Assurance and User Acceptance testing with strong understanding of Testing Life Cycle, concepts and methodologies with emphasis on web-based applications; automated tools a plus

• Experience in an Information Technology department supporting internal, external, on and off-shore project assignments 

• Able to work collaboratively and communicate with various functional areas and employee levels within the company, from line-level to executive leadership

• Fundamental analytical, conceptual thinking, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in an office environment.  Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
