Position Overview

The Senior Corporate Counsel will provide legal support and general legal services for Encore, working with internal and external clients. The focus of this position will be on contracts review, drafting and negotiation of service agreements, master service agreements, vendor agreements, standard terms and conditions, non-disclosure agreements, and any other commercial transactions. The Senior Corporate Counsel will report to the General Counsel.

Key Job Responsibilities

Contracts

• Review and negotiate legal contracts on behalf of the company.

• Draft required contracts and legal documents.

• Ensure contracts are in compliance with the laws.

• Ensure the rights of the company are protected under all circumstances in its contracts.

• Provide legal counsel and advice to internal customers on contracts.

Legal Counsel/Advice

• Provide general legal advisory services in connection with contracts or any other legal matters affecting the company.

• Ensure activities of the company do not give rise to claims.

• Form a liaison between the company and its clients and between the legal department and its internal customers.

• Ensure working practices in the company are as per law and regulations.

• Help policy makers of the company formulate correct plans and strategies by providing input regarding legal implications of such plans.

Job Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required from ABA accredited law school

• 5+ years’ experience contract drafting and negotiating, and general legal training, including work in a corporate law department or in a corporate practice at a law firm

• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Excellent knowledge about law in general and corporate law

• Excellent observation, analytical and decision-making skills

• Ability to think ahead and make decisions accordingly

• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills

• Highly precise and meticulous in drafting and reviewing legal documents

• Ability to influence the company and multitask

Work Environment

Office

Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.

Salary Pay Range: $156,440.00 - $191,639.00

The compensation offered for this role is determined based on the qualifications outlined in the job posting for the specified location. Final compensation is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant work experience, or particular skills and expertise. In addition, some positions may be eligible for other compensation such as potential overtime, bonuses or incentives.
