Regional Manager of Rigging Services- West Coast

The approximate salary range in New York and Washington State is $123,454- $151,231 per year with incentive opportunities. The approximate salary range in California and New Jersey is $113,958- $139,598 per year with incentive opportunities. The approximate salary range in Colorado is $104,461- $127,965 per year with incentive opportunities. 

Position Overview

Responsible for overseeing the complete rigging operations, revenue, and profitability while ensuring the utmost in customer satisfaction and adherence to the rigging SOP within an assigned region. Responsible for the direct supervision, development and mentoring of Rigging Supervisors and Coordinators. Responsible for development and implementation of risk management plans, personnel training and development, and support and coordination of new rigging opportunities. Contribute to and implement overall corporate business strategies through rigging. Direct and coordinate activities to obtain sustained and profitable rigging sales growth, rigging installation growth, optimum efficiency and economy of operations, excellent service quality and on-time service delivery.

Key Job Responsibilities 

Financial Management

Provide leadership and guidance in rigging revenue growth, cost management, and other financial areas. Conduct periodic financial reviews at each location and work with location managers to ensure proper business planning procedures and pricing schedules are followed. Manage benchmark processes for all locations in region. Develop region-wide programs that improve efficiency and effectiveness through shared labor, equipment and industry knowledge. Create and implement strategies to maximize asset utilization in the region. Prepare capital expenditure (capex) requests utilizing the appropriate model and submit through the capex process for rigging services.

Organizational Leadership

Provide organizational leadership and guidance through mentoring and developing Rigging Supervisors and Rigging Coordinators at our hotel, branch, and national operations locations. Ensure execution of all company policies relating to rigging. Make on site visits to each location on a periodic basis to ensure location adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and appropriate business practices. Utilize appropriate technologies to communicate promptly and coordinate activities throughout the region. Demonstrate examples of outstanding customer service and response.

People Development

Manage significant human resource related issues within region, including selection, performance management, salary administration, progressive discipline, training and development and strategic human resources planning. Coach Rigging Supervisors and RVPOs on how to create and maintain a positive employee relations environment as relates to our rigging product, including strategies to address employee concerns, recognize outstanding performance, facilitate team development, and implement company training and development initiatives. Ensure that all on site personnel have received the proper technical training and have the necessary skills to safely execute rigging according to ENCORE global standards. Support local, regional, and national training efforts, included but not limited to providing ETCP-Ied training at the EPC.

Account Management & Safety of Infrastructure

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with hotel executives and staff. Be aware of the competition, conduct price comparison analysis, and recommend new hotel prices and price increases within the rigging product. Work with the RVP of Sales to coordinate renewal activities for hotels and share opportunities to acquire new hotel contracts. Conduct periodic business reviews (which include location sales plans) with hotel executives, and provide prompt resolution of major location or region-wide issues. Coordinate and manage hotel openings in the region up to and including temporary site support from the national rigging team for large events.

Maintain and foster a safe environment for each of our rigging locations, provide site visit support to create and modify CAD diagrams, provide support with rigging point installation proposals and the presentation thereof, monitor regional rigging advances for safety and show-to-show compliance, and ensure that all rigging models and on site equipment correspond with the operational need. Verify that all structures have been rated by a structural engineer prior to use and that all equipment meets compliance and regulatory standards under the OSHA / ESTA / ANSI / PLASA regulatory agencies. This extends to our chain motor, lift, and related annual inspection programs and the administration thereof.

Information Management, Communications, & Reporting

Use all available data to manage the regional rigging business effectively. Analyze labor management and Helios coding compliance on an ongoing basis. Analyze and take action on the monthly new initiatives reports, distill location and regional data, and identify locations that are selling rigging outside of the program as safety targets. Identify locations that are producing revenue above a pre-defined threshold that also are outside of the exclusive contract as new opportunities for the sales team and manage interim safety of those locations. Provide operational information to RVPs of Sales, RVPs of Ops and the VP of Rigging and Power Services on a timely basis for completion of new / renewal models, infrastructure upgrades, structural engineer needs, or related safety reporting that maintains the integrity of ENCORE's rigging offering within the region.

Job Requirements

  • 7-10 years of operations experience, 3-5 years of high level rigging operations management experience

  • Demonstrated excellent leadership and customer relationship management skills

  • BA degree, marketing/business preferred

Work Environment

Work is performed in a hotel environment with limited exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust.  The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes.  Team members may use high-end audio visual equipment and electrical components.  Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.   Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by ENCORE based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
