Position Overview
The Artworker is role based in Uxbridge and is part of the Print Operations, supporting all UK venues and production. Working as part of Print Operations Team, checking artwork received, producing print proofs and print files. The Artworker reports to the Print Operations Manager.
Key Job Responsibilities
Quality File Review and Amendment
- Thoroughly check and verify received design files against customer specifications.
- Efficiently address and amend any issues or discrepancies in artwork, ensuring files are correctly formatted and print-ready.
Production of Print Proofs
- Create accurate print proofs for clients, ensuring they accurately represent the final printed product.
- Facilitate client review and approval processes, making adjustments to artwork based on client feedback.
Template Creation
- Design and develop templates for bespoke print items, ensuring they meet specific client requirements and are optimized for print production.
Deliver World-Class Service
- Maintain high standards of service by ensuring artwork accuracy and meeting client expectations for quality.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and feedback regarding artwork and proofs.
Collaborative Workflow
- Work closely with the print production team to ensure seamless integration of artwork into the printing process.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other departments to clarify requirements and resolve any artwork-related issues.
Technical Expertise
- Utilize advanced graphic design software to prepare, amend, and optimize files for printing.
- Maintain a keen eye for detail in all aspects of design, including colour, layout, and typography.
Quality Assurance and Efficiency
- Conduct thorough checks on artwork files for quality assurance and adherence to print specifications.
- Continuously seek ways to streamline the artwork preparation process for enhanced efficiency.
Professional Development
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in graphic design software, printing technology, and industry practices.
- Regularly update skills and knowledge in artwork preparation and file management.
Job Qualifications
- Proficiency in graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Experience working in a print production environment, with a strong understanding of print processes, file preparation, and proofing.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially in reviewing artwork files, colour matching, and ensuring adherence to print specifications.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, necessary for effective collaboration with team members and clear communication with clients.
- Ability to troubleshoot file issues and creatively solve problems that may arise during the artwork preparation process.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Understanding of various printing techniques and the requirements for different print mediums.
- A creative eye for design and the ability to adapt designs to fit different formats or print requirements.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently, with minimal supervision.
