Position Overview

The Video Editor will be responsible for all aspects of post-production, through final editing and trafficking. The Video Editor maintains high visual standards and solid attention to detail. This position will oversee medium-complexity projects ensuring error-free deliverables and dynamic edits. The Video Editor reports to the Associate Creative Director, Editorial and Motion graphics, or higher. 

Key Job Responsibilities

• Independently edit medium-complexity video deliverables, always striving to ensure the highest quality and meets the standards expected by internal teammates and external clients.

• Perform post-production editing and assist in the creation of animations and other assets.

• Work closely with the Art director and the creative team to strategically choose or develop visual style and tone, thinking about each project holistically.

• Manage timelines for various overlapping, fast-turnaround projects and prioritize requests to hit critical deadlines.

• Organize and manage shared media assets, ensuring integrity and accessibility for the rest of the video team.

• Maintain workstation to ensure efficient operation; organize and back up files as appropriate.

• Partner with creative teams from the concept stage through execution.

• Regularly communicate with Creative Producers on the status of all events.

• Demonstrate proficiency in technical knowledge of creative software, with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Responsible for adhering to established project schedule and deadlines providing deliverables in a timely and accurate fashion.

• Display the ability to translate effectively and accurately all Creative Direction provided into assigned projects and deliverables.

• Demonstrate proactive communication skills with the ACD, Producer, and team members; project concerns or red flags should be raised immediately so issues can be addressed in a timely manner.

• Maintain timely communications via email, teams chat, or phone when working at the office, and especially when working remotely.

• Ability to work on multiple deliverables and projects at the same time without sacrificing quality.

• Keep all project data and timesheet information up to date in the Project Management software.

• Demonstrate integrity and navigate through creative challenges with insight and patience.

• Attend creative presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

• Foster and maintain a positive work environment.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 

• 3+ years of experience in both live-action and animation post-production/editing

• A highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and creative approach

• An impressive portfolio

• Basic video compositing, and finishing experience required

• Working knowledge of basic audio and color correction techniques

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• A positive approach to teamwork and problem solving

• Strong client relationship skills

• Works well under pressure

• Work well in a team environment, as well as independently

• MS Office experience required

• Adept working in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, and knowledge in Illustrator and Photoshop

• A reel and creative portfolio of relevant work that demonstrates the range, experience, and flexibility

• Manage all projects in the current PM software, making sure it is always up-to-date and correct

• Follows current Encore Creative Production Process

Work Environment

Office

Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.

Salary Pay Range: $62,232.00 - $76,235.00

The compensation offered for this role is determined based on the qualifications outlined in the job posting for the specified location. Final compensation is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant work experience, or particular skills and expertise. In addition, some positions may be eligible for other compensation such as potential overtime, bonuses or incentives.
