Human Resource Generalist - Toronto Office
Position Overview
The HR Generalist (National) partners with the Human Resources team to build a thriving culture that supports the company’s continued success and builds on our promise to be a great place to work. You will be the subject matter expert for our national operations, working with our centers of excellence to deploy total rewards programs and ensuring operational excellence throughout Canada. You will have an opportunity to administer critical HR processes including benefits, compensation, compliance, and HRIS data integrity. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Human Resources.
Key Job Responsibilities
Total Rewards Administration (Benefits & Compensation)
- Responsible for the administration of the company’s group insurance benefits and RRSP programs across Canada.
- Administers compensation and incentive plans, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate guidelines.
- Communicates effectively about our benefits, incentives, and general compensation plans to employees and managers.
- Acts as the primary contact for benefits vendors and resolves escalated inquiries regarding coverage or claims.
HR Operations, Compliance & Reporting
- Leads Government Reporting & Compliance initiatives (e.g., Employment Equity, provincial requirements).
- Conducts regular HR Audits and Gap Analyses to ensure data integrity and process compliance.
- Manages Legal Prep duties, including gathering documentation and correspondence for legal matters.
- Oversees Reliability Certification processes for employees requiring security clearances.
- Drafts and implements Policy Updates to ensure the employee handbook and internal policies remain current with legislation.
HRIS & Workflow Management
- Owns the maintenance of employee records in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring workflows are efficient and accurate.
- Runs and prepares complex Internal & External Reporting to support business decisions and statutory requirements.
- Identifies opportunities to streamline HR workflows and improve system utilization.
Program Administration
- Manages the administration of the 1-Star Certification programs (TAP & CAP).
- Supports the NCLP (National Certification/Learning Programs) administration.
- Participates in HR special projects as assigned by leadership.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent, in Human Resources or related field
- 3+ years experience in Human Resources, with a focus on Benefits, Compensation, or HR Operations
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment laws and benefits administration
- High proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Excel
- Critical thinker, active listener, and effective time manager
- Excellent professional written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and discretion in handling confidential information

Salary Pay Range: $60,000 - $70,000
The compensation offered for this role is determined based on the qualifications outlined in the job posting for the specified location. Final compensation is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant work experience, or particular skills and expertise. In addition, some positions may be eligible for other compensation such as potential overtime, bonuses or incentives.
Work Environment
Office
Work is performed in a hybrid mix – 50% in the office and 50% remote. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
