Position Overview
The Printer Operator & Finisher is an integral part of the print production team, responsible for operating printing machinery and performing finishing operations on printed materials. This role requires a combination of technical skill in handling printing machinery and a keen eye for detail in finishing processes to ensure high-quality print products.
Printer Operator & Finisher reports to the Print Operations Manager.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Deliver World-Class Service:
Produce high-quality prints that meet or exceed customer and company specifications.
Respond promptly and effectively to any customer concerns, ensuring satisfaction.
• Operational Proficiency:
Handle various print and finishing machines, including large format roll-to-roll and flatbed machines, digital cutters, and laminators.
Set up and adjust machinery according to specific job requirements, ensuring optimal operation.
• See the Big Picture:
Maintain clear and responsive communication with print team members to ensure cohesive workflow.
Collaboratively work with Logistics to prepare for printing of projects/jobs.
• Timely Project Completion:
Ensure all projects are completed and delivered within agreed timelines, prioritizing efficiency and quality.
• Drive Results:
Understand and align with project goals to contribute effectively to the team's success.
Continuously develop and refine effective workflows to enhance productivity.
• Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Regularly perform maintenance on printing and finishing equipment to ensure smooth operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Quality Control:
Conduct rigorous inspections of finished products for quality assurance.
Adjust machine settings and perform necessary repairs to maintain high-quality standards.
• Safety and Training:
Adhere to all safety practices and policies within the print room.
Participate in training on safety protocols and proper use of machinery.
• Industry Knowledge and Improvement:
Stay informed about new trends, products, and technology in the printing industry.
Proactively seek opportunities for learning and improvement in print operations.

Qualifications
• Previous experience as a printer operator, with knowledge of printing and finishing techniques.
• Experience with operating Mimaki & Roland print machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good mechanical and technical skills to operate and maintain equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks involving lifting and moving materials.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a warehouse and office environment. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore. When in the Warehouse, work will be completed in an environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
