Position Overview

Hoist Compliance Technicians are responsible for maintaining the company’s chain hoist inventory to ensure compliance with all chain hoist related standards. Maintains records of equipment repair logs and inspection reports.  Purchases shop related items.  This position will report to the Manager, Rigging Hoist Compliance.


Key Job Responsibilities 

Operations & Inspections

• Responsible for maintaining an efficient process to inspect and maintain chain hoists and related equipment for optimal functionality while maintaining equipment standards and profitability. 

• Work closely with regional rigging personnel to develop logistics plan resulting in maximum utilization of equipment and prioritization system for equipment down-time minimization within the assigned region.  

• Ensure 100% compliance with all annual equipment certification procedures established by Encore. 

• Ensure compliance with all ANSI, ASME, PLASA and manufacturer standards governing hoist equipment used for overhead rigging. 

• Perform annual inspection and load testing of rigging hoist equipment and facilitate all necessary improvements or modifications. 

• Responsible for the annual inspection, load testing, maintenance, and repair of rigging equipment within the assigned territory.  

• Ensures equipment is cosmetically acceptable and working properly, to manufactured specifications.  The flexibility to travel nationally and perform on-site regional inspections as needed. 

Information Management and Reporting

• Responsible for submitting inspection reports and project costs immediately following each inspection.  Maintains records of equipment repair logs and inspection reports.

People Development

• Serve as an on-going technical resource for CM-ET Certified technicians. 

• Support company training and development initiatives. 

• Maintain a positive employee relations environment for all team members.  

• Provide friendly and knowledgeable support to all levels of the company.  

• Flexibility to travel as needed to assist with training and the evaluation of CM-ET Certified employees.  


• Purchases shop related items.

Job Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required

• 3+ years of rigging inspections experience within the hospitality industry

• Full capability with general business computer systems and functions

• Sound administrative skills, communication skills, and diverse knowledge of rigging equipment and electronics.

• Flexibility to travel within the U.S. at 50% level as required to meet business needs

• CM-ET Certification

• Strong customer, client and coworker interface experience and abilities

Work Environment

Work is performed in a hotel environment that may be under construction and moderately quiet to noisy.  Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations. Must be able to work long hours at height in harness and work in a high degree of dust and dirt. Position requires extensive travel and will be required to adhere to Encore’s travel policy.  Working times may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.   Team members must adhere to appearance and conduct guidelines as defined by Encore’s Team Member Guidebook and based on an individual hotel or a representation of hotels in that city or area.
