LOCAL DRIVING ONLY

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specifically, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate with the Transportation Lead Driver and Warehouse Supervisor on all assigned events to ensure load completion is 100% accurate and complete.
  • Follow up with Transportation Manager and Driver Lead to ensure that the yard, and all roads within our facility are kept neat, organized and that only a minimum amount of  trucks are kept onsite at (HQ) to reduce any potential safety issues and maintain our neat and professional appearance.
  • Perform daily safety pre-trip and post trip inspections on all equipment operated and verify completion of maintenance from the previous day’s safety write ups.
  • Oversee and follow up with all drivers to ensure vehicles are kept clean and fueled.
  • An ability to work flexible schedule is mandatory, including evenings, weekends and overtime, as deemed necessary to fulfill job duties.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Maintain a D.O.T. certified physical card.
  • Must maintain a clean driving record.
  • Submit to post accident drug screens.

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Drivers must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and possess at least two (2) years of power equipment driving experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A strong desire for professional achievement and advancement is highly preferred.
  • Trade Show/Special Events knowledge is highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Word/Excel helpful.

PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, load lists, work orders, truck manifests, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to compose position appropriate documents.
  • Multilingual a plus.

  1. Physical Demands
  • Lifting up to 75 pounds will be required. This individual will need to capable of performing physical labor related to truck loading and unloading, handling and set-up of company and client owned materials. Requirements should be expected to be very physically demanding at times.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear and taste or smell.
  • Specific vision abilities require by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability adjust focus.

INTER-RELATIONSHIPS

Persons in this position will interface regularly with all levels of Hargrove staff, clients, and facility contacts, to ensure the completion of all assigned tasks. In addition, this employee will regularly have contact with supplemental labor forces, and may be required to offer guidance and/or supervision as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Most job duties for persons in this position will take place in various offsite locations to include warehouses, event sites and will require outdoor work periodically. Much of the work surroundings can be chaotic, high energy, and present less than favorable working conditions (i.e. noisy, high traffic volumes, dusty, and exposure to weather conditions). Position may require travel and when needed, long hours.

  • The successful candidate is confident, assertive, and capable of multi-tasking with good communication skills.
  • The successful candidate will be required to work well under pressure in a time-critical environment, maintain a professional, positive “can-do” attitude, demonstrate good interpersonal skills and possess the ability to motivate others.
  • This individual must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision.
