Position Overview

The Graphic Designer primarily uses Abobe creative suite softwares to create and/or process graphic files for special events, tradeshows, and exhibits. This position is responsible for taking design files or elements created by others, and from them create and/or process files primarily for large format printing needs. Using renderings and CAD details as a guide, graphic files are created and/or processed for a multitude of graphic needs that range from signage, to stage graphics, to structure infills, ect... Orders are taken from our internal FORMs system, and detailed proofs are created for production and install needs from the graphic requests. The GD works with a Account Managers, Production Managers, Designers, and Graphic Production staff in order to produce graphic needs for the company.

Key Job Responsibilities

Specifically, the duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Create, compile and/or process graphic files from a multitude of sources for large format printing
  • Deliver high quality and maintain consistent print production files
  • Work with Producers, Production Managers and Shop Leads to collectively come up with creative solutions
  • Maintain project files in orderly fashion according to Hargrove standard practices
  • Ability to read detail drawings and effectively apply graphics per specs
  • Understand print process and materials
  • Maintain color and graphic consistency in files for output
  • Properly process orders through internal MIS (FORMs) system

Job Qualifications

  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro
  • 2 years working experience in graphic design and/or related fields for print production
  • Associates or higher degree in graphic design or certificates in Adobe Creative Suite software is a plus
  • Color management skills is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work and interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and skillsets, including discussing how graphics interact with fabrication and varied builds
  • Organization skills and problem solving skills

Work is performed in a hybrid home and office environment.  Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.   Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Hargrove based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.  Most office work will take place in a climate-controlled environment.  Surroundings in office at times can be chaotic, high energy, and noisy, with high traffic volumes, dusty, and exposure to weather conditions.
